Infinix Smart 6 Review: Features, Specs, and Price in Nigeria

Infinix Smart 6 current price in Nigeria

If you need to buy one of the best infinix smartphones, but wants it at a cheaper price, then the Infinix Smart 6 is a good option. The Infinix Smart 6 is one of the best entry-level smartphones released by Infinix. This phone was released as an upgrade to its predecessor the Infinix smart 5 in some areas but at the same time a downgrade. Though their cameras weren’t the same but the battery capacity is what we are impressed with in the latest the smart 6.

If camera performance is one of your main priorities in a phone, then the Infinix smart 6 isn’t a good choice. However, if you want a phone with a strong battery capacity that can last a whole day, the Infinix Smart 6 has a 5000mAh battery making it a viable option for you. Infinix’s “Smart” series is one of the company’s lowest brands, featuring only entry-level smartphones, so you shouldn’t expect too much from the Infinix smart 6. This phone comes with a 6.6-inch display smartphone which is quite good.

The 8MP main camera isn’t too bad, but not perfect for an entry-level smartphone since most of them can offer more, but we are overwhelmed with its battery capacity which we doubt if any entry-level or even mid-range smartphone can offer more than. There’s also 2GB RAM with 32GB of internal storage. Generally, we can say that the Infinix Smart 6 is an entry-level smartphone with outstanding features.

Notwithstanding your choice of smartphone, Infinix surely has something good for you. To help you make the right choice, here’s everything we know about the latest Infinix device.

Design

Design and Display

The design of the Smart 6 is just like another typical entry-level smartphone. Nothing much to talk about it, still a glass front, plastic back and plastic frame which we saw in the Infinix smart 5. Infinix simply designed this phone, having a length of 165.4mm, 76.4mm in width, and a weight of 183g which is very light though that’s because of its plastic material.

The volume and control buttons were all at the right corner, a 3.5mm headphone jack is on the top edge, while down below it you will find a USB 2.0 port. The Infinix Smart 6 is available in four different colour options which are Ocean Blue, Purple, Light Sea Green, and Polar Black.

Looking at the design of this phone, it’s the same thing we saw with its predecessor except for the back panel. At the back panel of the Infinix Smart 6, you’re getting a squared camera bump that contains a dual-camera setup and a LED Flash. Just below the camera bump, you will find a fingerprint scanner at the centre for security. There is also an “Infinix” logo vertically placed down the back panel at its left corner. While for the Infinix smart 5, there is a camera bump that houses a triple camera but is not squared. Just below its fingerprint scanner, you will find the “Infinix” logo at the centre.

Display

The display of the Infinix Smart 6 features a 6.6-inch waterdrop screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The display screen is built with an IP LCD panel which is common in entry-level smartphones and still offers a decent experience for watching movies. The display screen has a 266 PPI density, 20.9 aspect ratio, and 500 nits of maximum brightness which gives you a pleasant viewing experience even while outdoors in a sunny environment.

Meanwhile, the Smart 6’s display screen is bright, colourful, and with sharp contrast for accurate display of pictures, videos or anything that appears on the screen. Also, you won’t get them being compressed on the screen as the display is wide enough. On the top centre of the display screen, you will get the front camera which is used for taking selfies.

Camera

Camera

We were expecting an upgrade from the 13MP main camera we saw in the Infinix smart 5, but surprisingly the Infinix Smart 6 comes with an 8MP main sensor which left many people disappointed. However, we shouldn’t disguise the Infinix smart 6 just because of its camera while it still has lots to offer. We think Infinix has a better reason for that and that’s its affordable price, so you are getting what you paid for. The 8MP main sensor can still take nice pictures with enough details.

The main camera is accompanied by a 0.8MP depth sensor which we don’t know its use, but since it is a sensor, it adds to taking nice pictures with this phone alongside a dual-LED flash. With the main camera, you can shoot videos at 1080p. As for the front camera, there is a 5MP sensor for taking selfies, recording videos at 720p, and making video calls. It also comes with a LED flash.

Performance, Storage, and Software

In terms of performance, the Infinix smart 6 delivers a decent experience in most necessary areas like watching movies, listening to music or playing games. Most games like PUGB mobile or Asphalt Nitro might not work perfectly with this phone, so we advise you to playing light games. The Infinix Smart 6 is powered by Unisoc SC9863A which is an octa-core processor manufactured using a 28nm process technology.
.
As for memory, the Infinix Smart 6 has 2GB RAM that’s paired with 32GB of internal storage. The internal storage comes with an AppSqueeze feature which saves up to 15% of your storage space allowing you to download additional files. There is also an option for expansion of memory via an SD Card slot.

The Infinix Smart 6 runs on the Android 11 operating system, alongside XOS 7.6 overlay, while the Infinix smart 5 runs the latter version of this operating system. Therefore, this phone introduces lots of customizable features you can’t find in the Infinix smart 5.
