Tecno has updated its Spark series lineup with another smartphone called the Tecno Spark 9 Pro. The newly launched Tecno smartphone is said to be the successor to the Tecno Spark 8 Pro. The two smartphones have similar specs with few noticeable changes. Fortunately, the Tecno Spark 9 Pro is simply made with refreshed new design and improved specs for those who want to experience something new.
One of the significant changes here is the selfie camera where the Tecno Spark 9 Pro has a 32MP sensor. This is a huge upgrade from the Tecno Spark 8 Pro’s 8MP sensor, while the main camera remains the same with a 48MP shooter. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro is a 6.6-inch screen smartphone with a responsive performance from the Mediatek Helio G85 chipset.
This phone has a 5000mAh battery which comes with an 18W fast charging support. The Tecno Spark 9 Pro can as well be a good option for those who an affordable mid-range phone. Though this phone doesn’t support the 5G network connectivity, you can still get a decent performance for your day-to-day browsing with the Android 12 version on top.

Design and Display
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro will be arriving in Quantum Black, Burano Blue, Holy White, and Hacker Storm colours. This phone is built in a simple way which seems good enough for those who appreciate a simple design look. The back panel comes in plastic material with a Matte finish to resist smudges and fingerprints.
Except for the two lenses and a dual-LED flash which protruded from the surface, the back panel has a flat surface with no camera bump nor the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which is already outdated. The fingerprint scanner doubles as the power button which is positioned on the right edge of this phone. There’s also a dedicated slot for the microSD card and SIM.
The 3.5mm headphone jack, micro-USB port, and speaker grille were all available in this phone. Flipping through the front panel introduces the selfie camera which is tucked in a dew drop notch cutout at the top centre of the screen.
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro features a 6.6-inch screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 83.4, a 20.9 aspect ratio, and a Full HD+ resolution which you will enjoy watching movies on. Its display is built with an IPS LCD panel which has a 90Hz of refresh rate. The screen has a maximum brightness of 500nits which makes this phone bright enough to use outdoors.

Camera
For the camera, the Tecno Spark 9 Pro brings a 48MP triple camera setup which has double 2MP sensors for the depth and Al lens. This phone’s 48MP main camera can produce beautiful images when you take photos with it. The background is also bright and natural, especially in good light conditions. While in low-light conditions, the images produced were unsaturated which is something we usually see in some mid-range phones.
The 2MP depth sensor allows you to take portrait shots which most people don’t use occasionally, but you can’t skip taking portrait photos due to these somewhat limited megapixels. The selfie camera is one of the most interesting parts of this phone. Those who love taking selfies would appreciate this phone’s 32MP selfie camera. Performance, Storage, and Software
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core chipset under a 12nm process technology. This chipset isn’t the best in the mid-range market when it comes to performance. This means that the Tecno Spark 9 Pro’s performance is limited to some extent. However, it works perfectly for your day-to-day activities including scrolling through different apps on your phone, browsing the internet, multitasking and watching media content.
You can as well play some graphics-intensive games, but that’s based on certain settings to avoid slowing down the phone’s performance which may result in lagging or heating the system. The chipset is also supported by a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU to maintain quality graphics while playing games.
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro comes in 4GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage, as well as 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There’s also a dedicated microSD card slot for each of the RAM variants you choose.
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro is based on the latest Android 12 version with the HiOS 8.6 overlay. This phone comes with lots of features and apps which you may find useful to enhance your experience with this phone.

The Tecno Spark 9 Pro has a battery capacity of 5000mAh which we found overwhelming. Provided in the box is an 18W fast charging support which charges the phone from empty to full battery within one hour.
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro’s battery is huge enough to last for 24 hours if you’re an average user. Although this is not an improvement from last year’s model, but we feel it was deliberately done to keep the price low.

Tecno Spark 9 Pro: Price in Nigerian Slots and Availability
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro’s global release is expected to hold in June 2022. With that, we’re sure that this phone will be available in Nigerian slots in the same month.
The Tecno Spark 9 Pro will be on sale in Nigerian markets and slots at ₦95,000 (roughly $157) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB built-in storage variant.
