The Tecno company launched this budget-friendly smartphone in late 2021 engrossing it with unique features. Those who love technology would definitely fancy this smartphone because of its qualities, good camera, amazing display, unique designs, sound performance, and standard battery capacity.
The Tecno Camon 18 Premier is the latest smartphone from the Camon 18 series, therefore it featured so many upgrades, especially with its 64MP main camera, that brings us to the “premier” tag in the phone’s name. The Tecno Camon 18 Premier comes with a stabilized Gimbal camera which is becoming common after we witnessed it on most VIVO phones that were launched last year.
A 6.7-inch screen with an AMOLED panel is enough to give the Tecno Camon 18 Premier a dazzling display. The display screen is accompanied by 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Design
From our observation, we discovered that the Tecno Camon 18 Premier is designed to make it easy to handle. With the fingerprint scanner at the right corner of the phone, you can easily unlock the phone with just one touch. The fingerprint scanner also serves as the power button, while the volume control buttons are placed at the right corner also. On top of the left side of the phone is the SIM tray which has dual Nano-SIM support, along with the microSD card slot. Meanwhile, the phone’s USB charging port, 3.5mm audio jack, and dual speakers are placed at the lower section of the phone.
At the back of the Tecno Camon 18 Premier, you will find nothing but a 1mm tall camera bump vertically placed at the top left corner. It houses the three cameras and a LED Flashlight placed on the top right corner of the camera bump. Still, on the same back panel of the Tecno Camon 18 Premier, you will find a Tecno Camon logo vertically placed at its button right corner.
Looking at the appearance of the Tecno Camon 18 Premier, it didn’t come with all those flashy designs seen in recent smartphones. However, we think the company paid more attention to what the phone can offer to its users other than just appearance. This is a welcoming approach and what we would love to see from other phone manufacturers. To summarize everything, the design of the Tecno Camon 18 Premier is encouraging, though it doesn’t have those flashy aesthetics but it’s still unique with its two colour options; the Polar Night, and Vast Sky.
Display
At the front of the Tecno Camon 18 Premier is a 6.7-inch flat-screen display. The display comes with an excellent AMOLED panel showing at an FHD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels). A 120Hz refresh rate is enough to provide a faster response while scrolling through your phone. The 500 nits of max brightness give the screen a bright colour with sharp contrast, meaning the phone is equally usable outdoors or in a sunny environment.
The display of the Camon 18 Premier is wide enough, thanks to the HDR10 support which makes watching movies and playing games a memorable one with this smartphone. On top of the screen is a dot-hole cutout that houses the selfie shooter.
Camera
The Tecno Camon 18 Premier just as we earlier said in the introduction is one of the first Tecno Mobile phones with the introduced new set of camera technology. This has been the main focus of this smartphone, keeping it outstanding among its competitors. The Stabilized Gimbal camera feature is one of the key selling points of the Tecno Camon 18 Premier. A triple camera setup is behind the stunning images that are produced with this smartphone. The main camera features a 64MP camera shooter which can take good images on its own, but it won’t do the whole work alone.
Therefore, the main camera is assisted with the most anticipated 12MP Gimbal ultra-wide camera, although the Gimbal technology isn’t available for all the sensors, just for the 12MP photo shooter. Meanwhile, the 64MP main camera uses only EIS, as for the other camera, the 8MP periscope lens uses a Telescope mechanism that can zoom at 5X, and can reach 12X zoom, using the AL algorithm thereby allowing you to push up to the 60X hybrid zoom.
A 32MP selfie shooter sits on the front camera of the Tecno Camon 18 Premier. Recording videos, taking selfies, and making video calls are some of the things you can do with the front camera, and of course, you will get amazing results from it. The front camera also doubles up as a face ID reader to strengthen the phone’s security.

The Tecno Camon 18 Premier isn’t keeping any secret about its fast performance. The power behind it is the Helio G96 CPU from the MediaTek processor manufactured using a 12nm process technology. G96 is an octa-core chipset which is the latest version of the MediaTek processor. It’s therefore supported by the Mali G57 MC2 for graphics.
No doubt that this phone is good for gaming and game lovers would definitely love it. Graphics-intensive games are being developed every day and to be able to enjoy them, you must have a smartphone that could meet up the demands of these games.

Although this is nowhere near the best we’ve seen but it’s a good development for Tecno phones.
