The Poco X4 Pro 5G was launched on February 28 2022, since then this smartphone has been leading the race as one of the best mid-range mobile phones. Looking at the specs of this phone, the Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G is the successor to the Poco X3 GT with both phones having almost the same specs which is a disappointment to many Xiaomi fans as they expected something better.
Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G is an amazing smartphone. This handset has impressed a lot of people in some of the most important areas including the camera, a 108MP main camera that can capture nice pictures with enough details. Upfront is a 16MP selfie camera for taking selfies. The 6.67-inch display screen is a huge one with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. Design
The Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G might be considered a mid-range phone, but when it comes to design, this phone is really top class. The Xiaomi company has done a good job with the design of this smartphone, making it look very attractive, probably, one of the best Xiaomi phones when it comes to design because we haven’t seen any Poco device with such a design. The Poco X4 Pro 5G spots a flat-screen and flat, shiny plastic back panel, with both panels slightly curved at the edge to join with the mid-frame.
The sparkling plastic back panel is very noticeable when the phone is in its black colour. It houses a rectangular camera bump that nearly occupied the whole width of the phone. Though you might say that’s not necessary since it only contains the triple camera bump and a LED flash, but that’s what most people love about the design of this phone. The flat rectangular camera bump with the Poco logo well placed at its top edge and the cameras at the other edge looks more attractive especially when the phone is in its Poco yellow colour.
The Poco X4 Pro 5G comes in an all-plastic affair which is a bit surprising to us instead of the usual glass panel seen on most smartphones. However, that’s an advantage to its users since it won’t shatter like the glass when dropped, but at the same time a disadvantage because it might scratch easily. This smartphone is backed up with an IP53 rating, meaning it’s dust-free and water-resistant which seems too much to offer from a mid-range phone. Also, this smartphone comes in different colour options, not only the Laser Black and the Poco Yellow which we mentioned earlier, but the Laser blue is also available so you have to choose from the colour that suits your taste.
Display
The display of the Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G is undoubtedly amazing. It flaunts an impressive 6.67-inch AMOLED panel, with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. The 120Hz refresh rate is faster when compared to most mid-range phones with a 90Hz display. The 360Hz touch sampling rate is also a nice one, giving you a smooth gaming experience and providing gamers with a faster response especially while playing competitive games.
From the huge AMOLED panel, you will get nothing but a bright and colourful display. Its 1300 nits max brightness makes the phone much usable even in a sunny environment. Also, the HDR10 support makes watching videos a decent experience, you can watch YouTube videos, TikTok, and your favourite movies in a bright and colourful display setting. On the top of the screen is a hole-punch camera for taking good selfies. The display screen is covered with a corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

When it comes to the camera, the Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G has shown one of the amazing things Xiaomi phones are known for, providing phones with excellent camera qualities. A 108MP main photo shooter is quite too much to offer from a mid-range phone with a mid-range price, but that’s for the good of its users. The 108MP Wide camera (with f/1.9 aperture) on its own can take good pictures, but it never came alone.
The Poco X4 Pro 5G shows off a three-camera bump accompanied by a LED flash. As a result of this, the main camera is assisted by an 8MP ultra-wide lens (with f/2.2 aperture), and lastly a 2MP macro sensor (with f/2.4 aperture). As we all know, the ultra-wide lens shouldn’t be as good as the main camera when it comes to taking good images, but when it comes to colour temperature or dynamic range the ultra-wide lens can be very helpful. However, it serves as an available option if you would like to switch lenses. The same thing is applicable with the 2MP macro sensor which allows you to take close-up images thereby making it a viable option as well.
Upfront is a 16MP selfie shooter which can take good images as well. It can be used to take selfies, make video calls and supports video recording at 1080p. The front has a portrait photography support with the Bokeh effect that blurs the background.

Despite being a mid-range mobile phone, the Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G is powered by one of the best mid-range processors. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G Octa-core processor and Adreno 619 GPU for graphics. This means the phone is fast when it comes to performance and colourful with the graphics. You can enjoy all types of games at a high graphics setting without any malfunction or delay.
When it comes to memory, the Xiaomi Poco X4 Pro 5G didn’t lack behind as its memory comes in two different options, the 6GB RAM with 128GB internal memory and the 8GB RAM with 256GB internal memory. Regardless of the one you choose, there is also an option for expansion via a microSD card slot up to 1TB.
The Poco X4 Pro 5G runs on Android 11 along with Xiaomi’s MIUI 13 skin overlay which is the company’s latest software version.
