Infinix Note 30 5G Review: Features, Specs, and Price in Nigeria

For the past few years, the Infinix Note series has been an outstanding midrange phone segment best known for their affordability, durability, and strong battery life. The latest Infinix Note 30 5G is one of the company’s first phones with the latest network technology that focuses on overall user satisfaction.

The Infinix Note 30 5G is the direct successor to last year’s Note 12 5G but comes with an excellent 108MP camera setup, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 5000mAh battery capacity. That’s not all as the Note 30 5G gets the new MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset, a 6.78-inch display with a 120Hz smooth refresh rate, 45W fast charging support, and many others.

So now, the question is, does the Infinix Note 30 5G live up to expectations with its price tag? Let’s dive in as we unreach all the specs and features of the Infinix smartphone in detail.

Design

Design

The Infinix Note 30 5G maintained the sleek and gorgeous design of the Note 12 5G, but with a redesigned camera bump which we found more interesting. As expected, the phone is simple and so comes with a plastic back instead of a premium glass back, but we found it durable, even though it didn’t help to trim down its weight.

Meanwhile, the rectangular back camera module houses three lenses with a Quad-LED camera setup. The rest of the phone’s back remains plain as the fingerprint scanner is placed by the side and doubles up as a power button just slightly below the volume control rockers. Conversely, the other left side houses the phone’s SIM tray and microSD card slot.

The smartphone’s frame is made out of a polycarbonate material. Moving towards the base, you’ll be welcomed by stereo speakers, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, you should know that the phone is chunky as it weighs 205g with 168.5 x 76.5 x 8.5 mm dimensions, so some users might not find it comfortable to use. Nevertheless, the phone has one of the best designs in the mid-range segment.

Display

Display

The Infinix Note 30 5G has a large 6.78-inch IPS display, unlike its predecessor with an AMOLED screen. It gets a peak brightness of 580 nits with a 1080 × 2460 pixels resolution, a 120Hz smooth refresh rate, and 396 ppi density.

With these specifications, you’ll find this phone interesting to watch movies on or play your favourite games. When it comes to sound, Infinix’s collaboration with JBL is a welcomed addition as it brought the party vibes right to your phone especially while streaming your favourite music.

Camera

As we earlier mentioned, the Infinix Note 30 5G is equipped with a triple camera lens housed inside a rectangular bump. The phone packs a 108MP primary shooter that’s accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and a QVGA camera. You can enjoy selfies and video calls with the impressive 16MP front camera.

The camera software has a similar interface to other Infinix devices, but we don’t have any problem with that. It has multiple interesting modes that include AI cam, Panorama, Portrait Beauty, and many more.

Interestingly, the Infinix Note 30 5G camera performs greatly in ample lighting conditions. Photos look natural, with details, and well-controlled dynamic range. However, in low light, the reverse is the case as pictures have a lot of grain, but becomes better when the Super night mode is turned on. On the other hand, the 16MP selfie camera was just ok, wasn’t below the average we expected it to be.

When it comes to video, the Infinix Note 30 5G can shoot 1080p@30fps/60fps and 2k videos at 30fps. The recording quality was good, but the lack of optical image stabilisation made it a bit shaky, but be rest assured that the video and audio quality is decent once you know how to effectively handle the camera while on a video.

Performance, Storage, and Software

Performance, Storage, and Software

The Infinix Note 30 5G comes with the new MediaTek Dimensity 6080 chipset and becomes the first phone to feature the latest processor. Of course, it’s a midrange processor and seems to be the rebranded version of the MediaTek Dimensity 810 chip in the Note 12 5G. A Mali G57 GPU takes care of the phone’s graphics and it has multiple 4GB and 8GB RAM options with an extra 256GB aside from the basic 128GB storage space.

When it comes to performance, the Infinix Note 30 5G handles our normal daily tasks very well without any lags or stutter. However, the phone struggles to handle high-end games to our expectations as a result of poor RAM management.

The Infinix Note 30 5G runs on the latest Google Android 13 OS with Infinix XOS v13 on top. Of course, the device comes with some bloatware apps which cannot be uninstalled and will end up sending ad notifications to your phone all the time. Interestingly, Infinix debuts its Folax voice assistant in the Note 30 5G. The most notable part of it is that Folax is integrated with ChatGPT which brings AI close to you.

Battery Capacity and Charging

Infinix Note 30 5G: Battery Capacity and Fast Charging

Infinix equipped the Note 30 5G with the normal 5000mAh battery cell that’s in most midrange phones. The smartphone can guarantee you 24-hour usage, but after a series of playing games, watching movies, or browsing the internet, you’ll be left with about 6 hours.

The Infinix Note 30 5G is the fastest-charging smartphone in this segment, thanks to the 45W charger in the box. Also, it has a reverse charging feature that allows you to power another secondary phone with a USB-C cord.
