Design and Display
You might like to know that there’s nothing special about the Galaxy A12 design as budget-friendly phones are not made to lend an air of quality of design. However, Samsung opts for a matte finish that may sound cheap but feels comfortable to hold in the hand. Fortunately, the raised diagonal ridges help to add extra grip to the phone’s design. This unibody design that feels sturdy eliminates any sign of fingerprints magnet, unlike other budget devices.
Luckily, Samsung has placed the power button to sit below the volume rockers at the right side of the phone for easier accessibility. This will make unlocking the phone less of a reach. Meanwhile, the left side of the phone is occupied by the SIM card/SD card slot. On the bottom of the phone are a USB-C port and headphone jack. Thankfully, there’s also a stereo speaker that sounds fine but can be easily muffled with your hand.
The Samsung Galaxy A12 power button also has a built-in fingerprint sensor that’s faster and more accurate than last year’s model. This gives the phone a premium feel and cleans up the overall look of the device. The Samsung Galaxy A12 is one of the few mid-range devices with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
While we would have preferred larger screen size, the 6.5-inches display of the Galaxy A12 might be too big for a budget phone. While it’s an HD+ resolution display, it’s large and clear enough to provide you with maximum entertainment and catch up with the latest TV shows.

Cameras
Although budget phones are not known to have great cameras, the Galaxy A12 managed to avoid the trend by having one of the best camera performances in this segment. Minus the 8MP front camera, the Galaxy A12 has four other camera lenses including a 48MP primary shooter, a 5MP ultra-wide lens, 2MP macro camera, and another 2MP depth sensor.
However, it might surprise you to know that the Galaxy A12 only produces incredible images in daylight settings especially using the ultra-wide lens. Meanwhile, indoor shots weren’t terrible either so far there’s enough lighting to brighten the photo.
The 8MP selfie camera is superb too at least to some extent. Although it’s not something that can be compared to Samsung flagship device cameras, or you’ll like to print on the wall, but it’s quite good for social media uploads.
