Apple iPad Pro 2021 review and Price in Nigeria

Is the Apple iPad Pro 2021 the best Tablet to Buy?

Undoubtedly, Apple doesn’t have a competitor when it comes to premium tablets. The latest Apple iPad Pro 2021 is a clear evidence of Apple’s technological prowess. There’s no argument that it has a gorgeous design, powerful piece of hardware, fast processing speed, and an enormous battery to back it up. It’s undeniably one of the best and fastest tablets we’ve ever reviewed and we find it hard to believe whether there will be any other tablet released in the next two years that can match its quality.

While the Apple iPad Pro 2021 doesn’t have a much different physical appearance from its predecessor, it sports some incredible upgrades ever seen on Apple iPad. The most notable features of the iPad Pro 2021 are the Mini-Led display, upgraded front camera, USB-4, Thunderbolt 3, 5G support for the cellular model, etc. Surprisingly, you can get up to 2TB of storage space which is incredible for fans who want a lot of storage.

The Apple iPad Pro 2021 was announced on the launch of the April 20 event alongside the purple version of iPhone 12, the latest Apple iMac, and Apple AirTags. However, these premium features doesn’t warrant spending close to $3l2,000 on a tablet but if you get some cash to spend, it’s really worth it. Below is our official review and verdict about the latest tablet alongside its current price in the Nigerian market.

Apple iPad Pro 2021: Design

Although the iPad Pro 2021 doesn’t sport many changes, it still looks great. Meanwhile, there are squared-off edges which makes it different from the older generation’s rounded edges. However, if you haven’t owned an iPad as of recent, the iPad Pro 2021 is the best option. Fortunately, there are some noticeable changes on the Apple iPad Pro 2021 you’ll love to have on your tablet. The frustrating bezels surrounding the screen has been reduced thereby making the iPad slimmer and gave it a premium look.

If this is your first experience of using an iPad before, then the 2021 model will give you the best experience as it’s much bigger and highly-specced. Meanwhile, the large screen size will be awesome for watching movies, playing games, swiping through photos, or surfing the internet.

At the top edge of the Apple iPad Pro 2021 is an almost invisible Face ID which doubles up as the selfie camera. There’s a magnetic strip at the back that houses the second-gen Apple Pencil which equally charges there.

As normal with other Apple iPad Pros, there is a quad-speaker set-up at each corner which never fail to deliver high-frequency sounds. For users who love having the best speakers on their tablets, the Apple iPad Pro 2021 is the best choice. In case you’re not updated with Apple iPad specs, there’s an absence of a Lightning port but instead a USB-C that supports Thunderbolts 3. Also, you can equally use the Apple iPad Pro 2021 battery to charge your iPhone. The USB-C port doubles up for many uses that make the iPad more premium.

Display

One of the big changes that grace the iPad Pro 2021 is the switch to Mini-LED. This Mini-LED feature allows over 10,000 of smaller LEDs across the screen instead of few LEDs providing light for the screen like it was on its predecessors. The 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro 2021 has a max brightness level of 1,600 nits which is bright enough for outdoor use. Also, the Apple iPad Pro’s peak display level is four times as bright as most tablets.

However, nothing has changed in the resolution as the iPad sports the same dual 2388 × 1668 and 2048 x 2732 pixels. Fortunately, there’s up to a 120Hz refresh rate for accurate white balance and colours. While there are no OLED or AMOLED panels available, the IPS LCD is still preferable as it offers more fantastic colour accuracy and with the addition of Mini-LED, we doubt there are any tablet’s display that’s better than this.

Performance and Specs

Performance and Specs

Another intriguing feature of the Apple iPad Pro 2021 is the inclusion of the Apple M1 chip which is a big surprise. Unlike other iPads that are equipped with iPhone chips, you can now get a Mac-like level experience on the iPad Pro 2021.

However, you won’t notice the improved speed while performing basic tasks as iPadOS is always smooth. In our Geekbench 5 testing, the iPad Pro 2021 is twice as fast as the Galaxy Tab S7+. Meanwhile, you’ll only notice the iPad’s massive processing speed while playing games, multi-camera video editing, 3D work, etc. Also, Apple revealed the iPad Pro 2021 will have a 40% speed boost over the 2020 model. There’s no doubt this is the best iPad Apple has released in the last few decades.

When it comes to the RAM and storage options, the iPad’s 8GB of RAM model is paired with either 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of storage, while the dual 1TB and 2TB variants have 16GB RAM. Amazingly, this is the highest storage option ever equipped on Apple iPad and it’ll be much welcomed by fans who have plenty of things to store or loves having massive storage space on their iPads.

There’s no doubt that Apple wants to give their fans not only the best premium performance but also premium features. This can be seen in the inclusion of 5G connectivity. However, why most countries are not yet compatible with the latest network connectivity, it’s worth having as the next-gen technology is fast evolving all over the world.

Apple iPad Pro 2021: Cameras

Meanwhile, you should know there are no many changes on the Apple iPad Pro 2021 cameras. The iPad sports the same 12-MP primary shooter, alongside a 10-MP ultra-wide sensor, and TOF 3D LiDAR scanner for accurate depth sensing.

Although iPads are not primarily known to be camera-centric but Apple choose to surprise its fans with an upgraded selfie camera. Unlike last year’s 7-MP sensor, the iPad Pro 2021 has an upgraded 12-MP front camera that can automatically track and keep you in the frame while moving around in video call, Zoom, FaceTime, or other video apps.

Battery Capacity

The Apple iPad Pro 2021’s 40.88Wh battery cell lasted For over 10 hours on continuous use. However, you might get more or less depending on the kind of task you’re using it for. Intensive gaming or running apps that demand a lot of GPU and CPU will require you to connect to a USB-C charger after 8 hours of use. Meanwhile, nothing has changed in recharging as Apple still equip the same 18W fast charging support. This will see the iPad charge from empty to 100% within 3 hours.
