iTel Mobile is one of the brands in the Transsion Holding company that’s dedicated to providing the best entry-level phones to its users. There’s no doubt the company is improving in every area, offering the cheapest and most reliable phones money can buy. The iTel P38 Pro is another proof of the company’s objectives towards developing handsets with better processing power, bigger battery, and more storage without many hikes in price.
The iTel P38 Pro packs a large display size of 6.8-inch, alongside a dual set of rear cameras, runs on the Go Edition of the latest Android 12 and is powered by a massive 6000mAh battery. The phone is launched alongside a Pro model that has a bigger storage space and battery. The iTel P38 Pro comes as the higher end of the base P38 but has a larger display, upgraded storage space, and bigger battery capacity.
Fortunately, we’ve gathered enough information about the specs and features of the P38 Pro device alongside its price in Nigeria.

Design and Display
The iTel P38 Pro is very similar to the P38 and they both sport the same smart design that’s stylishly built which we find different from other iTel phones. This makes it so hard to restrict the phone’s attractive aesthetics. On the back of the phone are vertical lines that’ll restrict fingerprints. Although the iTel P38 Pro has a plastic body instead of glass like most recent flagship phones, it’s still preferable to help keep the price low.
Similar to most iTel phones, the P38 Pro features a teardrop notch which is somehow outdated as most recent phones are now equipped with a smaller dot-hole notch. Flipping through the rear panel of the phone you’ll be welcomed by a rectangular module that houses the phone’s rear camera. Besides the camera is a fingerprint reader that has a fast response and is equally reliable, although you can use the Face unlock ID as a secondary verification feature.
The iTel P38 Pro is packed with the necessary phone ports connection which we’re not surprised to see as it’s a common feature in mid-range phones. There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired earphone fans and a USB port for charging the device. On the right side of the phone are the perfectly positioned power button and volume rockers while on the left are the dual SIM card and SD card slots.
At 6.8-inch, the iTel P38 Pro has a slightly larger display compared to the P38. It packs some amazing display qualities that are vivid and colourful enough to keep you going. With up to a 1B colour gamut, you’re ready to enjoy the highest viewing experience on the iTel P38 Pro display.
- The Tecno Spark 8C review and price in Nigeria
Although the iTel P38 Pro is not primarily a camera device it does well in delivering perfect photos in well-lighted conditions. The 8MP selfie camera could be considered one of the best features of this smartphone as it takes a better shot than most smartphones within the same price range.
On the back, the phone has a 5MP camera with a dual-LED flash and autofocus to improve the photo quality. There’s no doubt iTel phones are still lacking behind when it comes to camera performance which we expect them to improve on in the next model.
Some of the features of the iTel P38 Pro camera include AI Face Beauty, Bokeh effect, One-click share, and many others. However, it’s so unfortunate that the P38 Pro has the same camera specs as the P38 model.

Performance and Software
The iTel chipset brings improvement to the game performance of the phone compared to its predecessors. There’s a 2GB of RAM with 64GB of built-in storage which you can choose to upgrade up to 128GB through SDcard.
When it comes to performance, the iTel P38 Pro has updated AI Power Master technologies that smartly learn the user’s activities and adjust the power consumption of the software to balance power. While this is an entry-level smartphone with a basic processor, you won’t expect to play high-end games comfortably with this device. However, you can play basic and intermediate games without any issues.
The phone runs on Android 12 (Go Edition) which has some notable changes in the phone’s performance. The new software has an XHide privacy vault, socio turbo, and anti-theft alerts to help improve the user’s experience.
Fortunately, it comes with a range of Google services including Gmail, Maps, YouTube, Playstore, Calendar, etc.

Battery Capacity and Charging
If you want an iTel phone with superb battery life, the P38 Pro will be a precise option for you. Unlike the P38, it comes with an upgraded battery capacity of 6000mAh. The iTel P38 Pro is the phone with the biggest battery life from the Transsion brand and among the highest in mid-range phones. Undoubtedly, the battery department is one of the best features of this phone which will make many iTel lovers go for it.
Interestingly, iTel is ready to give the fans what they deserve by integrating an 18W fast charging on the P38 Pro. This is the first iTel phone to have a fast charging feature and iTel claims that 10 minutes of charging can give close to 3 hours of runtime.
