Design and Display
The Infinix Hot 12i just like its name has a hot and beautiful design. It has an amazing rear panel that’s fingerprint-resistant much to our surprise. The colour gradient back is one of the best we’ve seen on infinix devices and you can choose to buy yours in either Turquoise Cyan, Polar Black, 7-degree Purple, or Exploratory Blue colours.
Similar to other Infinix smartphones, there’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner that’s somehow outdated as other brands have shifted to the side-mounted fingerprint reader. However, the Infinix Hot 12i has two huge camera bump on the back that makes it look like a flagship phone. This is undeniably the best part of the phone’s design.
At the bottom are the speaker grill, micro-USB charging port, and a headphone jack. The power button and volume rockers are perfectly positioned at the top right corner for easy hand reach and they’re tactile enough than that of the Hot 11.

The Infinix Hot 12i comes with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen, alongside a resolution of 720 × 1612 pixels. This alongside a 164.8 x 76.4 x 8.75 mm dimensions will bring out a magnificent display with stunning colours that’ll be good for outdoor use.
In addition, is an 82.4% screen-to-body ratio that brings out an immersive viewing experience that will make your gaming session a memorable one. While the phone has a poor 271ppi density, it’s still preferable to some mid-rangers in the market.

The Infinix Hot 12i has triple cameras on the rear that comprises a 13MP primary shooter alongside a 2MP depth sensor and another 2MP AI lens. Upfront is an 8MP lens that takes care of the selfie camera. Fortunately, there’s a LED flash available on the rear and front sides of the device.
The Infinix Hot 12i comes with plenty of camera features including AI cam, Bokeh, Beauty, Super night mode, Panorama, etc. In terms of performance, these cameras delivered even above expectations, especially in ideal lighting conditions. However, lowlight camera performance is nothing to write home about as photos were taken with a lack of details and are not bright enough.

Powering the Hot 12i is a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset alongside dual 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on the variant you’re going for. Fortunately, the Hot 12i is a good gaming phone as you can comfortably play mid-range games without any lag. However, intense games won’t play well in high refresh rate settings rather at medium for a smooth gaming experience.
With Android 11 and XOS 7.6, you’re getting system-wide dark mode, a new gesture navigation option, updated security settings, native screen recording, Game Turbo, and many others.
Similar to most Android phones, you’d be receiving unwanted notifications to download certain apps which are annoying. However, you can easily restrict some apps from sending you notifications by going to the phone’s settings. Meanwhile, some of these ads are unavoidable so you have to manage them.
Battery Capacity
The Infinix Hot 12i is powered by a 5000mAh battery life that allows you to use the phone for up to 48 hours without connecting it to a charger. While the phone lacks reasonable fast charging support, the battery department still remains one of the best features of this smartphone.
