Infinix Zero 5G Review: Full Specs, Features, and Price in Nigeria

Infinix Zero 5G performance and price

Infinix has been pushing hard to book its place among the top smartphone producers in the world. For the past few years, they have been covering each market of smartphones with their mid-range and entry-level smartphones which they produced with top quality. However, with the launch of the Infinix Zero 5G, it may seem very hard to underestimate or doubt the ability of this Hong Kong-based company in dealing with quality devices.

The Zero 5G was launched in January 2022 by Infinix as her best smartphone in terms of a good camera, colourful display, sound performance, and long-lasting battery life. However, last year’s Infinix Zero X Pro has all these qualities to the fullest including a higher 108MP camera and 120Hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the Infinix Zero 5G didn’t reach up to those levels but still delivers some excellent qualities with its 48MP camera, 120Hz refresh rate, and a huge 5000mAh battery all at a cheaper price than the Infinix Zero X Pro.

Still, with its affordable price, the Infinix Zero 5G offers a 5G network making this phone the first Infinix smartphone to feature the technology. The Infinix Zero 5G has shown enough reasons why it should be your top choice of smartphone if you want a flagship phone at an affordable price. Not just for its 5G network connectivity, it still offers lots of cool specs plus the best deals you could get for a mid-range smartphone.

Design

Design

When you take a look at the Infinix Zero 5G, you’ll see something premium, but when you get to hold the phone you might feel the opposite. The back panel spots those reflective and eye-catching designs like it was made of glass, but very much a shiny plastic material which turns out to be a fingerprint magnet. The design of this phone is far from looking like the Infinix Zero X Pro.

The camera module was raised from the back panel, we think Infinix must have gotten inspiration from the Oppo’s Find X3 Pro whose back panel curves to form the camera bump.

When it comes to quality of manufacturing, the Infinix Zero 5G is pretty good and seems very comfortable to handle though the dimensions push to 168.73 x 76.53 x 8.77mm and 199g in weight. The design looks very attractive for those who love attractive options but just as I said before, it doesn’t feel much like a premium device. On the right, there is a power button that doubles as a very responsive fingerprint scanner to unlock the phone.

On the same right corner, you will see the volume buttons while the USB Type-C port, 3.5m headphone jack, and a speaker grilLe were all situated at the bottom edge of the phone. Infinix also made this phone to be available in Cosmic Black, Skylight Orange, and Horizon Blue as three colour options for you to choose depending on your taste.

Display

Display

The Infinix Zero 5G still offers a unique display screen to watch content on. There is a huge 6.78-inch display screen that has an IPS LCD panel with up to a 120Hz refresh rate. The resolutions are 1080 x 2460 pixels with 388ppi density. Covering up to 88.1% of the phone’s front panel, the display screen sounds like a large one to watch YouTube videos and movies, and play some games on. Also, you won’t get your files like photos or videos being compressed on the screen.

The display colours are very good, though it lacks the quality of the Infinix Zero 5G but still shows colourful images. The maximum brightness level reaches up to 500nits which is nice but might not be enough to use under direct sunlight.

Camera

Camera

In terms of camera, the Infinix Zero 5G remains undoubtedly impressive considering its cheap price. So if you want a phone for taking selfies at an affordable price the Infinix Zero 5G might be a good choice. This phone flaunts a triple camera setup on the back panel for taking photos. The three cameras are headed by a 48MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture as the primary sensor. The main camera is capable of taking nice pictures with bright colours when you assist it with the quad-LED Flash.

Meanwhile, it looks like Infinix preferred a telephoto lens to an ultra-wide in this phone. So the second camera comes with a 13MP telephoto lens with 2X optical zoom for zooming in on far pictures. Lastly, there is a 2MP depth sensor for portrait photography which produces a beautiful Bokeh effect that blurs the background. There is a Night mode feature if you might need to take night shots.

On the front segment is a 16MP camera for taking cool selfies, shooting videos at 4k, and making video calls. The front camera also comes with a dual-LED Flash.

Performance, Storage, and Software

The Infinix Zero 5G didn’t get anything wrong in most necessary areas. Performance-wise, this phone still offers something beyond its affordable price to show how good Infinix can be in dealing with budget smartphones. The Infinix Zero 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset which is an octa-core processor built with a 6nm process technology.

For your day-to-day activities like browsing the internet, playing games, or scrolling through your social media feeds, you won’t experience any delay while using the Infinix Zero 5G as everything works perfectly. This chipset also comes with a MALI G68 MC4 GPU for graphics.

As for memory, the Infinix Zero 5G comes with a UFS 3.1 internal storage. There is an 8GB of RAM which is paired with 128GB of internal storage. Provided there is a virtual RAM feature where you can use up to 5GB out of the 8GB of RAM as your internal storage, there is also an option for expansion of memory via an SD card slot.

The Infinix Zero 5G runs on the Android 11 version alongside XOS 10. However, Infinix promised the Android 12 version update for this phone which will sound very interesting to its users.
