Design
The Tecno Spark 7 design can best be described as stylish just like we said earlier. The back panel glitters as if it was made of glass but is very much a plastic material with a matte finish which gives a smooth feel while holding the phone. Being an entry-level smartphone, you would expect nothing else than a V-shaped notch cutout for the selfie camera. The bezels are mid-sized and weren’t occupying the whole front panel.
In dimensions, this phone features a 164.8mm length, 76mm width, and weights slightly big at 203g which is attributed to its huge battery. The power and volume buttons were integrated into the right corner. On the left corner, there’s a SIM /microSD card slot. Down to the bottom edge of the Tecno Spark 7, there’s a micro-USB port, microphone, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
This phone features a three-camera setup which is nicely arranged in a rectangular bump at the top left corner of the back panel. Not too far from the camera, there’s a fingerprint scanner that helps to unlock the Tecno Spark 7 with just a touch. For viewing content with this phone, you’re getting a 6.52-inch screen that’s protected with Asahi glass. The screen comes with an IPS LCD panel, a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, a 20.9 aspect ratio and 269 PPI density. The screen is also colourful with sharp contrast which paves way for a wonderful display for watching of videos /viewing photos, playing games and many others.
The display is also bright enough to use outdoors under sunlight, and with an 81.3% screen-to-body ratio, you can easily scroll through your screen. Generally, this phone has a very decent display. Though it lacks the 90Hz of refresh rate or the AMOLED panel which is the perfect technology for display, but the display quality still goes well with this phone’s cheap price.

Camera
For the camera, the Tecno Spark 7 features a 16MP Dual camera as the main snapper along with a Quad-LED flash. Among the three lenses we saw from the camera bump, this 16MP sensor emerges as the only photo shooter available but that doesn’t mean the other lenses were included for looks. An Al lens has been added to the camera collection of the Tecno Spark 7 for low-light photographs, and there’s also an 8x zoom.
The main camera can capture nice pictures on its own, and for taking portrait photography, it features a Bokeh effect which produces sharp blurs to the background. There are lots of shooting modes like Al CAM, Portrait, Panorama, Slow motion, Video, and Beauty.
If you want to take selfies, there’s an 8MP front sensor with a Dual-LED Flash that can give you a stunning look, and you can also take portrait shots with it. The provided double LED flash can add to taking quality photos in low-light settings.

Performance, Storage, and Software
For your day-to-day usage of this phone like scrolling through your media feeds, browsing the internet, playing some light games, and performing other easy tasks, you won’t experience any sign of delay or malfunction with the Tecno Spark 7. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio A25 chipset which isn’t known for handling too many workloads nor does it fit in as a gaming chipset.
So multitasking or playing graphics-intensive games might be hard with this phone. There’s also a PowerVR GE8320 chip for graphics.
The Tecno Spark 7 comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM versions which are paired with 32GB /64GB of internal storage. There’s also an option for expansion of memory via an SD card slot up to 128GB.
