Xiaomi 11t Pro Review: Features, Specs, and Price in Nigeria

Just six months after the Xiaomi Mi 11 was launched, the company came up with another smartphone called the Xiaomi 11t Pro which deceitfully boats similar features to that premium phone at a reasonable price. But to make it more affordable, Xiaomi had to cut a few corners elsewhere which keeps the Xiaomi 11t Pro in the mid-range category where it belongs. Meanwhile, the 11t Pro has a bigger battery and bigger fast charging support than the Mi 11.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 11t Pro is best described as a capable mid-range smartphone that can go toe-to-toe with the OnePlus 9 both in terms of price and features. This phone features a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that has a 120Hz refresh rate. The camera array flaunts a triple setup with a 108MP main shooter, 8MP ultra-wide, and 5MP telemacro lens.

The 120W fast charger is the most significant feature of this phone, twice as big as the 55W in the Xiaomi Mi 11. The Xiaomi 11t Pro is easily one of the best Xiaomi phones in the market with a standard performance from the Snapdragon 888 chipset. Does this phone really worth the $545 price tag? We’ll leave that for you to decide when you go through our full review of the Xiaomi 11t Pro, including the features, specs, and price in Nigeria.

Design

While people complained that the Xiaomi Mi 11 is a bit large, this 11t is even larger. Well, the Xiaomi 11t is a big smartphone for those who want it but rather very big for users with a small palm and may find it very difficult to handle with one hand. Since you’ve got a big screen to watch content on, you shouldn’t mind having a length of 164.1mm, 76.9mm width, and a heavy 204g smartphone. With just a tap with your thumb, you can easily unlock this phone from the fingerprint scanner that is placed on the right edge.

Alongside this fingerprint scanner, there is a volume rocker while the USB Type-C port is placed underneath the phone’s edge. The Xiaomi 11t is built with an aluminium frame and a polycarbonate cover on the rear. Unfortunately, the plastic back easily attracts smudges and fingerprints. Cool enough, the Xiaomi 11t is IP53 rated, even the Mi 11 didn’t have any IP rating at all.

Generally, the design of this phone is impressive, looks good, and is comfortable to use as well. It is said that the camera bump of the Mi 10T Pro of 2022 stuck out a little bit, the 11t Pro is less imposing which is a nice improvement. Depending on your taste, the Xiaomi 11t Pro comes in Meteorite Gray, Moonlight White, and Celestial Blue options.

Display

Display

The display of the Xiaomi 11t Pro is nice but with a few downsides. Starting from the interesting part, it’s a big 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution, 20.9 aspect ratio, and 395 PPI density. The display reaches up to 1000 nits of max brightness which is enough to use under direct sunlight. Though on normal daytime conditions you get 414 nits, then 800 nits in sunlight or outdoors.

Just like the Mi 11, the Xiaomi 11t Pro also has a 120Hz of refresh rate. Though the Mi 10T Pro has a higher 144Hz of refresh rate, you shouldn’t compare its LCD panel to this phone’s AMOLED panel. Besides, there’s a 120Hz refresh rate that runs smoothly while scrolling through the phone’s screen. The screen is covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for protection while a punch-hole cutout is on the top for the selfie camera.

Camera

We forgot to mention that the Xiaomi Mi 11’s camera array looks similar to that of this phone. They have the same 108MP sensor (the one in the Xiaomi 11t Pro is slightly lesser than the Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor that you’ll find in the Xiaomi Mi 11i) and 5MP telemacro lens. Also, the Xiaomi 11t Pro has a lower 8MP ultra-wide shooter and 16MP selfie camera.

In good light conditions, the 108MP main camera can take nice pictures with sharp contrast, vibrant colors, and enough details just like the Xiaomi Mi 11. As a result of pixel binning, pictures are taken at 27MP by default but you can decide to capture at a higher resolution mode which uses the sensor’s full 108MP. We noticed some issues while capturing in low-light conditions but pixel binning helps to reduce that.

The 8MP ultra-wide shooter can also take nice shots with bold colors just like the main shooter, but we noticed less-enough details in some images due to its relatively small pixels. The 5MP telemacro camera does an excellent job while capturing close-up images and we’re impressed with the performance of the 16MP selfie camera, especially while taking portrait shots.

Performance, Storage, and Software

Performance, Storage, and Software

The Xiaomi 11t Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset which is one of the best chipsets around. This phone performs very well for your day-to-day activities including gaming. The big issue here is overheating which comes with the Snapdragon 888 chipset, so you have to avoid heavy tasks that cause the system to overheat which may slow down the phone’s performance.

The chipset is supported with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM which is paired with an internal storage of 128GB or 256GB depending on your choice. There’s no option for the expansion of memory through a microSD card slot.

The Xiaomi 11T Pro runs the Android 11 OS along with the company’s MIUI 12.5 interface. The Xiaomi interface is known to be easy to navigate. There’re many pre-installed apps like LinkedIn, eBay, and AliExpress plus other features like pulling down from the top left of the screen to assess the notifications or top right to see the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile data, and other options.

Battery

With the bigger screen, higher refresh rate, and a powerful chipset which supports 5G, we expected a huge battery capacity to back them up and the Xiaomi 11t Pro delivered a 5000mAh battery. For your regular daily activities, this phone can last up to 15hrs and can stay up to 2 days if you decide to use it lightly.

We’re impressed with this phone’s charging speed, the 120W fast charging support can charge the Xiaomi 11t Pro from 0 to 100% within 20mins.
