Xiaomi Redmi A1 Review, Specs, and Price in India

The Xiaomi Redmi A1 is a revamped version of the 2017 Mi A1, but it comes without MIUI as it runs a clean stock Android 12. Unlike the Mi A1, the Redmi A1 was launched to fit into the conservative budget category which makes it the latest budget-friendly Xiaomi product.

On the rear of the Redmi A1 is a leathery finish that feels premium when looked at from afar. On the inside is a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of built-in storage. However, there’s an option to expand the storage up to 512GB through the provided microSD slot. This is definitely not the best phone for gaming or performing high-end tasks, but it’s quite understandable when you check out its price.

Upfront is a big 6.52-inch LCD screen with a tall 20:9 aspect ratio and 720-pixel resolution. Turning over to its back is a Xiaomi 12 camera arrangement that houses an 8MP main sensor with a 2MP depth lens. The selfie camera shoots at 5MP.

The Xiaomi Redmi A1 has a 5000mAh battery life, but with an outdated MicroUSB port on the bottom. This is against the normal USB-C ports that are on other Xiaomi phones which is kinda hard to take on a phone launched in the second half of 2022.

The Xiaomi Redmi A1 will start selling in the Indian market at INR6,499 which is equivalent to about $80. Xiaomi is expected to bring the Redmi A1 flash sales on September 9 and it can be purchased in Green, Blue, or Black color options.
