The enticing Infinix Zero Ultra smartphone comes with exciting features like the 200MP camera, MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset, Android 12 software, and 180W fast charging. This makes it the fastest-charging phone on the market, but we don’t know how it performs in real life yet.
The Transsion Holding company ‘Infinix Mobile’ has officially launched two new flagship phones; the high-end Note Zero Ultra and the affordable Note Zero 20. The Zero Ultra was launched just a few months after Infinix released its Note 12 series that include the Note 12 VIP, Note 12 G96, Note 12 Pro 5G and the standard Note 12 with some high-end features.
It has a great build-up quality and aesthetics to make it among the best Infinix phones of 2022. While being launched with a mid-range chipset despite selling at up to a $500 price tag, the Infinix Zero Ultra 120W Thunder Charge makes it the fastest in the market. Also, it uses a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 lens that captures amazing photos and is one of the best in Android phones.
The Infinix Zero Ultra was launched with a Special Edition NFT which linked each phone to an NFT lottery card. This means that you have a chance of winning an animated NFT collection after buying the phone. It’s the first device to have this feature and it encourages fans to explore the Metaverse world with special NFTs that represent a space explorers from different planets.

Infinix Zero Ultra: Price in Nigeria and Availability
The Infinix Zero Ultra will be priced in Nigeria at ₦383,000 (roughly $583) for its 8GB of RAM with 256GB storage variant. At this price segment, the Xiaomi 12X (₦370,000) is its closest competitor although it has more advanced specs. The Oppo Reno 8 (₦250,000) is another cheaper alternative Android phone you can go for if you don’t fancy the Infinix Zero Ultra.
In India, you can buy the Infinix Zero Ultra at a price of ₹42,490.00 while those in Bangladesh can get it at BDT 59990.
According to Infinix, the official release and availability of the Zero Ultra will vary based on region, but it’s already available for pre-order purchase in Nigeria via the Infinix Xpark website.
Design and Display
The new Infinix Zero Ultra design gave a flagship vibe that’s second to none. This is among Infinix’s best phone designs and we love the curved screen edges that made it more attractive. The overall design and build-up quality of the phone is top-notch.
Flipping through the back panel you’ll be welcomed by two huge camera bumps that are raised a bit, but will be protected by the provided silicon case. At 213g, the Zero Ultra device is quite heavy despite having a plastic rear and average battery capacity. Unlike other flagship phones, the Infinix Zero Ultra lacks an official IP rating that makes it waterproof. This is a feature we always wanted to have on an Infinix handset, but were left disappointed once again.
Nevertheless, the Infinix Zero Ultra has one of the best Android phone displays. There’s a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED screen that’s showing at 1080 × 2400 pixels resolution. The phone makes use of an auto-refresh rate by default, but you can choose to switch between the 60Hz and 120Hz refresh rates.
The Infinix Zero Ultra has an under-display fingerprint sensor for its biometrics which is the current trending security bypass. Also, you’ll enjoy watching your favourite movies, playing games, or reading with the phone’s display. It’s undoubtedly among the best features of this smartphone.

Camera
Like we earlier mentioned, the Infinix Zero Ultra is among the first mobile phones to launch with the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 sensor which has optical image stabilization (OIS) and 16-in-1 pixel binning. The rest of the camera specs include a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro sensor. Upfront is a 32MP that snaps good-looking selfie photos.
The camera performance is among the best you’ll see especially the new 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 lens. It’s the same sensor that’s found on best Sony and Samsung phones so we’re happy it’s now on Infinix. Meanwhile, the 13MP ultra-wide lens didn’t impress us much unlike other phones with this sensor. So it’s better you stick with the primary camera.
It’s good to know that hardware specifications don’t necessarily translate to good camera performance as it’s the camera software that keeps it on top of the game as it’s in Google Pixel, Apple, and Samsung Galaxy phones. Fortunately, the Infinix Zero Ultra has an excellent photography performance. However, low light performance is just like most affordable phones as it struggles to capture enough details where there’s not enough light.
However, for videography, you can shoot up to 4k at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps which is similar to most flagship phones like the Huawei P50 Pro.
Performance, Storage, and Software
The Infinix Zero Ultra is being powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset that’s also on the Realme 9 Pro+. It’s a great mid-range chipset that can effectively handle your day-to-day operations without any lags. Just like the Tecno Camon 19 Pro 5G, the Zero Ultra comes with the latest 5G network support whitch guarantees a faster internet connection.
However, since the Infinix Zero Ultra is a flagship device, we’d have preferred a better chipset that can play high-end games like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset that’s on the Xiaomi 12X. Meanwhile, integrating a higher chipset would add up the price more which Infinix is trying to avoid as some fans are already against the ₦383,000 price tag.
Similar to most recent phones, the Infinix Zero Ultra comes in only one 8GB RAM and 256GB storage option. Furthermore, there’s an SDcard slot where you can insert your memory card if you want additional storage.
The latest Infinix Zero Ultra uses Android 12-based XOS 12 software. This is the current latest Android software and it puts the Zero Ultra among the phones that’ll receive Android 13 next year. Battery Capacity and Fast Charging
The Infinix Zero Ultra has an average battery size of 4500mAh. However, it doesn’t call for much concern as the phone doesn’t require a lot of power due to its low chipset. Nevertheless, you can easily get more than a day use with this battery. This can translate to up to 5 days when you only use the phone for basic things like phone calls, messaging, or a couple of photography sessions.
With a 180W Thunder Charge, the Infinix Zero Ultra is the fastest-charging phone currently available. It charges its two battery cells at 90W each and will do a full charge from an empty battery in just 12 minutes. We’re bewildered at how the Zero Ultra was able to achieve this milestone within a short time, thanks to Infinix Mobile smart technology.
