The Infinix Hot 20i is another model in the Infinix Hot 20 series. This smartphone is a direct successor to the Infinix Hot 12i and also a lower model in the company’s latest “Hot” series of smartphones. The device brings nothing else but entry-level specs at an extremely affordable price.
The Infinix Hot 20i is a very remarkable upgrade from the company’s previous entry-level smartphones, having up to a huge 5000mAh battery and a MediaTek Helio G25 processor. The device also comes with a 13MP main sensor on the rear while the front features an 8MP front-facing sensor for selfies.
From the specs, this model ships the same MediaTek CPU with the standard Infinix Hot 20, as well as the same battery capacity, but the superior model has a higher fast charging support, a camera sensor, and a bigger screen. Unfortunately, both phones only support 4G network connectivity.
It’s quite boring that Infinix is yet to bring a 5G model into its Hot series. So anyone that wants to experience this super-fast network connectivity will be pushed towards the Note or Zero series which are occupied with the company’s most expensive phones.
Asides from that, the Hot 20i is a very great device with a pleasant price, and we’ll tell you everything you need to know about the phone through this review.

Infinix Hot 20i: Price in Nigeria and Availability
The availability of the Infinix Hot 20 series is the same as the previous series where each of the models is launched in specific regions. Coming to the Infinix Hot 20i, the smartphone was released on September 28 across many countries in Africa and Asia.
For the price, the Infinix Hot 20i is selling at ₦71,400 ($91) for the 2GB/64GB storage variant, while the higher 3GB/64GB and 4GB/64GB are selling at ₦79,900 ($102) and ₦85,800 ($110) respectively. The device is also available in several online retail stores like AliExpress where it can be shipped to any region across the globe.

Design and Display
The design of the Infinix Hot 20i features a plastic rear with a matte finish that helps resist fingerprints and ensures a firm grip as well. A triple camera setup with a dual-LED flash is emplaced on the upper left corner of the rear while a fingerprint scanner is placed just beside it in the centre.
The right corner of the device hosts the power button and volume rocker while the opposite corner hosts the SIM tray which lets you add a micro SD card at the same time. The build quality of the Hot 20i proves that you’ll get a solid build quality from a plastic material.
The device is neither hefty nor too big to handle with one hand. The Infinix Hot 20i weighs slightly less than the standard model, though it comes with a smaller screen. And despite the lack of water or dust resistance support which is rare to find at this price point, the Infinix Hot 20i feels very solid on its plastic body.
The screen measures 6.6-inch with an IPS LCD display and a decent refresh rate of 60Hz. The display features a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and a maximum brightness of 500nits making the screen very visible even when you’re outdoors. Meanwhile, the water drop-notch cutout on the screen houses an 8MP selfie camera.

Infinix Hot 20i: Camera
The Infinix Hot 20i has a triple camera setup on the rear where the main camera is a 13MP sensor. The main camera is capable of shooting up to 1080p videos at 30 frames per second, while the other two sensors on the rear are almost of no use. Though they somehow help while capturing images, there’s not much to expect from two QVGA lenses.
The main camera captures some good-looking images in broad daylight. The performance is quite impressive, but you still have to keep your expectations very low, especially while capturing in challenging light conditions.
Amazingly, the 8MP selfie camera can also shoot up to 1080p videos. The performance while taking front-facing photos is a very pleasant one, at least to deliver a decent result that can be shared on social media.

Performance, Storage, and Software
The Infinix Hot 20i performance is quite beyond the capabilities of the MediaTek Helio G85 processor inside the phone. Generally, the smartphone can handle everyday activities including multitasking, scrolling through social media platforms, watching movies, browsing the internet, and very light gaming.
Games like PUGB were played with this phone on a lower graphics level without noticing much stuttering. The device comes with 2GB/3GB/4GB of RAM which is paired with 64GB of internal storage. A micro SD card slot is also available if you want to expand the storage.
The Infinix Hot 20i comes with the Android 12 OS out of the box along with XOS 10.6 skin on top. This means that the phone has the same software features as the standard Infinix Hot 20. The company’s tailored XOS 10.6 interface optimized the performance of this phone while ensuring useful customization features and minimum bloatware.
Infinix Hot 20i: Battery
The battery life of the Hot 20i is absolutely great with the 5000mAh battery. The smartphone is capable of lasting for 12hrs on screen-on-time usage. Therefore, it can last up to 24hrs on moderate use where you carry on your day-to-day activities without worrying about battery drainage.
