Tecno Mobile has always been working to improve its smartphone’s design and hardware and that can be seen in the recently released curved screen Phantom X. Fortunately, the company is set to release an Art Edition of the Tecno Camon 19 Pro which brings a new design overhaul.
Meanwhile, the Tecno Camon Series has always been known as the company’s premium mid-range phone with the main focus on excellent camera performance. However, the company seems to be focusing on the overall features of this year’s Camon 19 Pro as it sports a unique design we haven’t seen on a smartphone before.
The Tecno Camon 19 Pro 5G is a great device with a unique Art Edition design, excellent display, outstanding camera, great performance, and huge battery capacity to wrap it up. However, with a huge debut price, you might be wondering whether the Camon 19 Pro is worth what you’re paying for it. Design and Display
One interesting thing about the Camon 19 Pro is its back design with unique 7 colour blocks. This is what Tecno tagged as “Multi-Color Photoisomer Technology” which does not change when indoors, but switches between “Pink and Blue” when under sunlight. However, the colour varies depending on the light condition of the area.
The Tecno Camon 19 Pro will feature a triple camera setup on the rear with one huge bump which houses the primary camera with OIS. The second camera ring below it houses the ultra-wide and portrait lens. Upfront is a dot-hole notch for the selfie camera.
Meanwhile, the phone comes with two mics one at the top and the other at the bottom. On the right side of the phone is a volume rocker and power button while on the opposite side is the SIM tray. Moving down to the bottom is a USB-C port, speaker grille, and 3.5mm headphone jack. We’re happy Tecno decided to retain the headphone jack for wired fans even when most brands are excluding the feature from their flagship phones.
The Tecno Camon 19 Pro will have a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ (1080 × 2460 pixels) resolution. Just as expected, the Camon 19 Pro has a flat-screen with slim bezels which fit its flagship nature. This is the best display quality we’ve seen on a Camon device yet, and we hope to see more improvement in next year’s model.

Camera
The Tecno Camon Series as we earlier said focuses on quality camera performance and the Camon 19 Pro didn’t fail on that. This has been the main focus of this smartphone, keeping it outstanding among its competitors. A triple camera setup is behind the stunning images that are produced with this smartphone. The main camera features a 64MP camera shooter which can take good images on its own, but it won’t do the whole work alone.
Therefore, the main camera is assisted with a 50MP portrait lens that creates a depth-of-field effect and lets you capture photos with a sharp focus on the subject while the background remains blurred. Also, there’s a 2MP depth sensor that assists the portrait lens, but it wasn’t as perfect as expected.
At the front, the camera remains with the same 32MP lens that’s on last year’s Camon 18 Premier. Recording videos, taking selfies, and making video calls are some of the things you can do with the front camera, and of course, you will get amazing results from it. The front camera also doubles up as a face ID reader to strengthen the phone’s security.
Performance, Storage, and Software
The power behind the Camon 19 Pro is a familiar Helio G96 chipset from MediaTek processor manufactured using a 12nm process technology. G96 is an octa-core chipset which is the latest version of the MediaTek processor. It’s therefore supported by the Mali G57 MC2 for graphics.
There’s no doubt the Tecno Camon 19 Pro is a very good gaming phone with sharp graphics. As a result of this, the CPU is gaming-oriented which means multitasking is also added. You can play your games, watch videos and integrate through different apps without experiencing any lag or the system heating up.
When it comes to storage, the Tecno Camon 19 Pro comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage. This is big enough to store all your files and documents, but for those who might need extra storage, there is an option for storage expansion through the dedicated microSD card slot in the SIM tray.
The Tecno Camon 19 Pro comes with the latest Android 12 operating system alongside HiOS 8.6 overlay. Fortunately, it’s entitled to Google’s software enticing features and Play Service apps which help to improve the user experience. Furthermore, the Tecno Camon 19 Pro will be the first device from the company to receive the upcoming Android 13 operating system.
Tecno Camon 19 Pro 5G: Battery
In terms of battery capacity, a 5000mAh Li-Po battery is all you need to enjoy whatsoever you are doing without worrying about battery drainage. This is a slight improvement from last year’s Camon 18 Premier’s battery and it’s expected to last for a whole day and more when fully charged.
There’s a 33W fast charging support that powers the Camon 19 Pro from empty to full battery within 45 minutes. However, this is the same feature that was found on last year’s model, even when we expected at least 60W fast charging support with a wireless charging option.

Tecno Camon 19 Pro: Price in Nigeria Slots and Availability
The Tecno Camon 19 will be officially launched on June 14, 2022, with the release later the same month. Fortunately, preorder has already begun on the company’s official website at a slightly discounted rate, but you can wait to buy after the official release.
As for price, the Tecno Camon 19 Pro will be on sale in Nigerian shops and slots for ₦250,000 (roughly $416).
