The new device dubbed Tecno Spark 9t is a decent high-performance smartphone for those who want to experience something new.
It boasts of an impressive 90Hz refresh rate with a low-end waterdrop notch at the top screen. If there’s one thing you won’t find attractive on the Spark 9t, that’s definitely the 13MP rear camera that’s too small for a 2022 handset. Apart from that, you’ll definitely enjoy cruising around on the MediaTek Helio G37 SoC chipset even though it’s poor when it comes to gaming.

Design and Display
The Tecno Spark 9t will be arriving in Atlantic Blue, Turquoise Cyan, Iris Purple, and Cocoa Gold color options. This phone is built in a simple way which seems good enough for those who appreciate a simple look. The back panel comes in plastic material with a Matte finish to resist smudges and fingerprints.
Except for the two lenses and a Dual-LED flash which protruded from the surface, the back panel has a flat surface with no camera bump nor the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner which is already outdated. The fingerprint scanner doubles as the power button which is positioned on the right edge of this phone. However, unlike the Spark 9 Pro with some “SPARK” pattern designs on its body, the Spark 9t has a plain rear panel which we found unattractive.
There’s also a dedicated slot for the microSD card and SIM. The 3.5mm headphone jack, micro-USB port, and speaker grille were all available in this phone. The front panel introduces the selfie camera which is tucked in a teardrop notch cutout at the top centre of the screen.
The Tecno Spark 9t comes with a 6.6-inch screen, an HD+ resolution (720 × 1600 pixels) and a screen-to-body ratio of 83.4. Also, there’s a 20.9 aspect ratio which you will enjoy watching movies on. This phone’s display is built with an IPS LCD panel which has a 90Hz of refresh rate. The screen has a 266 PPI density that makes this phone bright enough to use outdoors.

When it comes to the camera, you’re getting a 13MP primary shooter on the rear that’s assisted by a 2MP depth sensor and QVGA lens. It boasts a 2.3 GHz clock speed and 12 nm architecture This chipset isn’t the best in the mid-range market when it comes to performance. This limits the Spark 9t’s performance especially when it comes to heavy tasks like gaming. However, this phone works perfectly for your day-to-day activities including scrolling through different apps on your phone, browsing the internet, multitasking and watching media content.
The Tecno Spark 9t is paired with 4GB /64GB and 4GB /128GB storage options. If you want a bigger RAM you can go for the high-end Spark 9 Pro which has a 6GB RAM model. Meanwhile, there’s a dedicated microSD card slot for each of the storage variants you choose.
As for software, the Tecno Spark 9t runs the Android 12 version with Tecno HiOS 8.6 overlay. This gives the phone lots of features and apps which you may find useful to enhance your user experience.
