Oppo A77s Review: Specs, Features, and Price in Nigeria

The Oppo A77s brings nothing but advanced features and specifications in a stylish package. Oppo is widely known for its stylish way of designing smartphones regardless of the price and category. The latest A77s is just a lower mid-range phone according to its specs, but the smartphone looks like one of those Samsung or Apple flagship devices.

Oppo has brought the Oppo A77s to expand its A77 series of smartphones, coming with a 6.56-inch screen that features a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset and a huge 5000mAh battery capacity that is supported with a 33W fast charger.

The above specifications are good enough to deliver a solid performance at a very affordable price. The Oppo A77s also do incredibly well while capturing images with the help of a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP sensor for selfies. The software features of the smartphone feel great as well, thanks to Google’s Android 12 OS and Oppo’s smooth ColorOS 12.1 skin.

The Oppo A77s will undoubtedly perform incredibly with its amazing specs. But before we delve into conclusions, we’ll like to discuss how smartphones generally perform. Fortunately, we’ve gathered the full review of the A77s, along with its features and price. It’s worth saying that Oppo included some cost-cutting features, considering the phone’s price, so let’s see how the phone was able to cope with the setbacks.

Design

Design

Nothing feels more interesting than having a smartphone that can be handled without stress. The A77s is one of the few smartphones that offer great performance without compromising on build quality. The smartphone weighs only 187g despite having a large battery, but we take that to be because of the plastic back and frame.

The Oppo A77s also feels very compact and slim, having a dimension of 163.8 x 75 x 8 mm (6.45 x 2.95 x 0.31 in). We think Oppo has done a great job making the A77s a smartphone that one can easily carry along while attracting admirers with its beautiful aesthetics.

Speaking of aesthetics, the Oppo A77s comes with either the Stary Black or Sunset Orange (depending on the model you bought), with each paired with Oppo’s famous Glow design which makes the entire smartphone look visually appealing. Oppo has kept this design language for its “A” series, meaning that the likes of the Oppo A77 5G, Oppo A57 5G, and Oppo A74 5G flaunt the same design.

That design language inspired the rectangular camera array on the rear of the Oppo A77s which has two big sensors and a LED flash. The solid build quality of the A77s is complemented by IPX4 water resistance and IP5X dust resistance.

Display

The Oppo A77s display has a 6.56-inch screen that features a 90Hz of refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. Fair enough, the display uses an IPS LCD panel and a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels which are not that improved but acceptable considering the phone’s price.

The overall display quality is great and enough to deliver a decent viewing experience. The colors are vibrant enough and the brightness also feels visible for use in a sunny environment, thanks to the HD+ resolution and 600 nits of max brightness. Scrolling through the screen works well while gaming without showing any form of lag.

Oppo A77s: Camera

For the camera, the Oppo A77s performs impressively with the dual camera sensors which consist of a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor camera. The smartphone captures beautiful images, mostly in environments with good lighting. When taking pictures in daylight, photos remained vivid and vibrant without looking watched out.

In some settings where there isn’t enough light, you can provide artificial lighting to brighten up the scene and the Oppo A77s will deliver amazing shots. The Bokeh Frare Portrait in the camera app is worth trying because it produces beautiful blurs that make the background look very appealing.

The front camera uses an 8MP sensor that is tucked in a water-drop cutout on the top center of the phone’s screen. The selfie camera’s HDR Mode makes selfies visible and colorful even in low-light scenarios. So if you’re fond of taking selfies while on vacation or an event, the A77s can create natural-looking images that are worth sharing on social media or saving to be cherished as memories.

Performance, Storage, and Software

Performance, Storage, and Software

The Oppo A77s comes with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor and Adreno 680 GPU. With two forces, the phone may not offer a groundbreaking performance but performs powerfully while you’re scrolling through social media, multitasking, and playing games.

Gaming with the phone does get some issues like stuttering or getting warm after hours of playing graphics-intensive games. But if you’re okay with super light games, then you’re good to go. The Oppo A77s also comes with 8GB of onboard RAM and 128GB of in-built storage.

The provided storage is big enough to store all your files, apps, and, documents. But if you plan to stack up your phone with numerous apps and games, you can expand the storage using the provided micro SD card slot. Another interesting feature is that you can borrow up to 5GB of unused storage as extended RAM to keep the handset running smoothly.

The Oppo A77s ships the Android 12 OS and Oppo’s custom ColorOS 12.1 overlay. Oppo’s ColorOS interface has been one of the main key features of their smartphones. The UI controls and customization tweaks that come with the interface are some of the features that make Oppo phones fun and easy to use.

Here on the A77s, the ColorOS 12.1 brings the same feeling, starting with the RAM management tweaks that allow you to turn your unused storage into an extended RAM. Also, the interface doesn’t include bloatware or pre-installed apps, though it’s not a new thing when it comes to Oppo phones.

Battery Capacity and Charging

Battery Capacity and Charging

The Oppo A77s is equipped with a 5000mAh battery which will see the smartphone last for a full day approximately. Fortunately, the provided 33W SuperVOOC charger is enough to power up the huge battery within a short time. So when the battery runs down, it won’t take more than an hour before it gets fully charged.
