Tecno has announced its latest smartphone from the “Pova” lineup which they named the Tecno Pova 3. This smartphone appeared to be the successor to last year’s Pova 2. However, it seems Tecno intends to reinstate their middle-tier smartphone’s massive battery capacity with this phone. The latest Tecno smartphone has introduced a 7000mAh battery which is the highest in the mid-range category.
The Tecno Pova 3 has a huge 6.9-inch Full HD screen, powered by a Mediatek Helio G88 chipset alongside 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This phone also comes with a higher 6GB of RAM, as well as in-built storage of 128GB. A triple camera setup at the back with a 50MP sensor as the main camera, while the front camera features an 8MP sensor for selfies.

Design
The Tecno Pova 3 comes in Electric Blue, Tech Silver, and Eco Black. It has been noted that the Electric Blue variant is specially designed, and will feature an RGB light string at the back panel which indicates while receiving calls, notifications, and when the phone is charging. While this feature is meant for the Electric Blue variant only does not make the other colours less attractive. Tecno has designed this phone in such a way that will suit your taste no matter the colour you see it in.
The Tecno Pova 3 features a length of 173.1mm with a 78.5mm width. The back panel comes with a plastic material that has a matte finish. There’s a triple camera setup and a Quad-LED flash on its top-left corner, while the front panel is a punch hole cutout on the top centre for the selfie camera. This phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner which also doubles as the power button.
The Tecno Pova 3 is also equipped with stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a SIM and microSD card slot, and a USB Type-C charging port.
Display
On the front, this phone comes with a 6.9-inch screen which has an IPS LCD panel. The Tecno Pova 3 has offered a Full HD+ screen for a decent multimedia experience especially while watching movies on the phone’s huge screen. The display resolutions are 1080 x 2400 pixels with 389 PPI density which makes for vivid and colourful images that are displayed on the screen.
The screen produces a 90Hz of refresh rate which makes scrolling through different apps on your screen easy and fast. The Tecno Pova 3’s display is an impressive one despite the absence of an AMOLED panel. Tecno has been using this IPS LCD panel for a long time on their mid-range phones which means they know how to make the best possible display out of it.

Camera
The Tecno Pova 3 spots a triple camera setup on the rear just like we said earlier. A 50MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture appears to be the main camera while the second is a depth sensor of 2MP and an Al lens. You might not be convinced with these two limited secondary sensors though that comes with the price. If you could focus on the main shooter with its amazing shooting ability, then you will enjoy taking photos with this phone.
The main shooter can capture colourful and detailed images irrespective of the light condition, but photos appear to be more detailed during the day than they used to be at night. The 2MP depth sensor despite its relatively small size can as well take beautiful portrait photographs.
The front camera has an 8MP sensor which you can take amazing selfies with, even in a wide range if you want to take family or group selfies. You can also make video calls and record videos with the front camera.

Performance, Storage, and Software
The Tecno Pova 3 features a Mediatek Helio G88 chipset under the hood which handles your daily tasks with ease. Every task that is carried on this phone including multitasking will run smoothly without any form of lag or heating up of the system. We did mention in the beginning that Tecno Pova 3 is on the other hand a gaming phone, the integrated Panther Game Engine will make the whole experience a smooth one.
The Tecno Pova 3 will be arriving in two storage variants. A 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage and a 6GB of RAM with 128GB of in-built storage. These two variants come at different prices in which the bigger storage variant is expected to be more expensive. The storage is also expandable through the dedicated microSD card slot.
The Tecno Pova 3 is based on the Android 12 operating system alongside HiOS 12.0. The Pova 3 has some useful features and pre-installed apps for a smoother experience with this phone.

Tecno Pova 3: Price in Nigerian Slots and Availability
In May 2022, The Tecno Pova 3 was officially announced by Tecno on their website including their various social handles. This phone is expected to go on sale the same month in some mentioned countries. Meanwhile, the release date in Nigeria isn’t confirmed yet.
The Tecno Pova 3 will go on sale at Nigerian slots and shops after its release at ₦110,000 ($185) for the 6GB + 128GB storage variant.
