Design
The design of the Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G is quite unimpressive when compared to its rivals. With a plastic frame and cover, the phone feels cheap, but it does feel premium in some way. Despite having enough viewing space with the 6.7-inch screen, the drop notch cutout which should have been the way of entry-level phones is still present on this phone.
The plastic back is designed to resist fingerprints and smudges, except for the glossy camera module which does attract few fingerprints.
Fortunately, Infinix has been designing its smartphones with enough ports, unlike other brands that do skip some for just no reason. On the sides of the Note 12 Pro 5G, you’ll find a dedicated micro SD card slot along with a Nano SIM slot on the left.
The phone also has a USB Type-C port, a stereo speaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom, while a power button with an in-built fingerprint scanner is placed on the right side along with the volume buttons.
Fortunately, the phone weighs just 188g which would be more appealing to those who prefer a lightweight design. The phone feels very comfortable for one-hand usage and the textured back helps for a firm grip. Normally, we don’t witness more good-looking phones from Infinix, so the Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G is just a typical display of Infinix phone’s esthetics.

Display
The Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G has a fairly large screen that measures 6.7-inches with 2.5D tempered glass protection. The screen is built with an AMOLED panel which has an FHD+ resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. Despite the AMOLED technology, the display will always feel slow while scrolling through the phone due to the lower refresh rate. Nevertheless, the AMOLED panel can produce vibrant colors with sharp contrast.
Although the Note 12 Pro 5G doesn’t support streaming HDR content on YouTube, but there’s a Widevine L1 certification to stream on Prime Video and Netflix. The screen is colourful and bright as well, though you might struggle to use the phone outdoors. Generally, the Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G did well on displaying contents, but the lower refresh rate will always remain an issue.
Camera
Even though the Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G has three sensors on the rear, it’s almost the same as having only one. The phone has a 108MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens. To be honest, an ultra-wide sensor should have been better than these two monochrome lenses that are not used occasionally. On the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera that supports HDR mode and shoots videos at 1440p resolution.
On the performance of the camera, we think Infinix didn’t do well with managing the camera modes which often disturbs the performance of the camera. The main camera captures good photos, but there’s a little shutter lag meaning you have to capture multiple times to get a good-looking image. Therefore, the 108MP mode makes it all easy by capturing double images at a time.
Also, the camera shoots with the Al mode by default even when switched to the Normal mode, and we noticed some built-in filters which cannot be turned off. These are some of the challenges you might face while taking photos with the Note Pro 12 Pro 5G, but photos will surely look amazing if you create enough time to reshoot and get a perfect result.

Performance, Storage, and Software
The Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G has a Mediatek Dimensity 810 SoC under a 6nm process technology. The chipset supports the 5G network connectivity, and it powers some more expensive smartphones, making the Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G the most affordable phone that comes with the Mediatek Dimensity 810 processor. Therefore, the phone easily handles some demanding gaming sessions without heating up.
We tested games like PUGB Mobile which the phone handled perfectly without showing any sign of lag in performance. This shows that other graphics-demanding games like the Asphalt Nitro or COD Mobile will also do well on this phone. Also, there’s an 8GB of RAM with 128GB of in-built storage, including an option to further expand the storage through a dedicated microSD card slot.
Out of the box, the Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G comes with the Android 12 OS and the XOS 10.6 overlay on top. Loads of pre-installed apps have always been the problem with the XOS interface. And from the Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G, you’ll have at least 15 pre-installed apps clogging up the screen. While you still have an option to uninstall these apps, it’s still frustrating to see them.

Infinix launched the Note 12 Pro 5G in collaboration with Marvel’s Dr. Strange, portraying the graphics of the new movie on the smartphone’s box with some thematic stickers inside. The Infinix Note 12 Pro 5G will be sold at ₦205,000 ($312).
The release date was on July 18 2022 and the phone is available in Black or White color, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of in-built storage.
