Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G: Price in Nigeria and Release Date
The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G was launched in December as an upgraded model of the previous Tecno Phantom X2 5G. The Phantom X2 Pro 5G is expected to be released in January 2023. For now, the smartphone isn’t available for purchase, but it has been listed on the company’s website.
The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G will be selling at ₦690,900 ($930) in Nigeria upon release. Though Tecno hasn’t announced full details of the price, we might get around the same price as mentioned above.

Design
The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G feels very tall with a large screen and solid build quality. The smartphone will arrive in Stardust Grey and Mars Orange, with the latter “made from recycled plastic materials from the Indian Ocean” according to Tecno. This makes the Mars Orange color model look visually appealing with the beautiful camera module.
The smartphone is built to embrace the features of some popular premium phones in terms of body structure. On the other hand, it looks exactly the same as the previous Tecno Phantom X2 5G except for the retractable portrait lens on the new phone.
The Phantom X2 Pro 5G is built as a smartphone one can easily handle. Though it weighs slightly much at 201g, the leather back helps for a firm grip while handling the phone.

Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G: Display
The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G has a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with a tall 20.9 aspect ratio. The device uses a curved display that boasts a 120Hz of refresh rate and a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. Particularly, we appreciate Tecno for this enormous display which will be fitting for watching movies and gaming.
In terms of color accuracy, brightness, and sharpness, the display does really great, though the 500nits of max brightness is beyond the standards of its rivals. For the camera, the retractable portrait lens has been the main attraction towards the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G. The lens physically pops out to get closer and take clearer shots of the subject. The retractable lens can easily achieve a 2.5x zoom, 65mm focal length, and 18.9cm depth of field.
The portrait camera has a 50MP sensor that measures 1/2.7 inches. The camera physically pops out on the surface of the rear once you switch to portrait mode in the camera app. This is supported by Techno’s beautification mode that supports up to three faces on each image.
The Phantom X2 Pro’s large camera module also accommodates a 50MP main camera that uses Samsung’s 1/1.3-inch GNV ISOCELL 3.0 sensor. There’s also a 13MP wide-angle lens while a 32MP sensor sits on the front panel of the phone.

The Tecno Phantom X2 Pro 5G is powered by a Dimensity 9000 chip which is a flagship chipset from the Taiwan chipmaker called MediaTek. This 4nm octa-core processor is quite as powerful as the Dimensity 9000+ found in the Xiaomi 12 Pro. This shows that the Phantom X2 Pro 5G is powerful enough to handle any task thrown at it, having a 120Hz refresh rate and Mali-G710 MC10 GPU to offer a smooth and lag-free performance.
