The front panel has a flat display with a punch-hole cutout at the top centre for the selfie camera while the bottom has a slightly thicker bezel than the rest. Also, the Motorola Moto G62 comes in two colors namely Midnight Gray and Frosted Blue. The design is water-repellent which feels a kind of reassurance if the phone gets wet.

Display

The phone’s display has a 6.5-inch screen with Full HD+ resolution. The Motorola Moto G62 has the same 120Hz refresh rate as other premium smartphones like the iPhone 13 and Samsung Galaxy S22 despite offering at a cheaper price.

With this higher refresh rate, scrolling through the screen and gaming with this phone will be smooth and lag-free. The display produces vibrant colors and crisp details, thanks to the Full HD+ resolution.

For multimedia usage, the Dolby Atmos audio support when combined with the stereo speakers, will boost audio up to 39% more than the previous Moto G series smartphones. With all these audio capabilities, the Moto G62 could be more of a help to gamers and those who love listening to content, delivering a higher volume and wider sound range without relying on headphones.

Flip over to the rear where there’s a triple camera setup, the main shooter has a 50MP Quad pixel lens, the ultra-wide angle lens comes with an 8MP sensor, while the macro lens has a 2MP sensor.

The Quad pixel tech is what the company uses in most of their smartphone’s cameras for brighter and more detailed shots in challenging light conditions. The ultra-wide which comes with a depth sensor can fit up to 4x more in a frame while producing some background blurs.

The 2MP macro lens does a decent job of capturing close-up photos. However, we feel Motorola should have done a bit more to make close-up photography with this phone better.

Also, the Moto G62’s camera features an integrated Google Lens and the ability to zoom in up to 8x with the rear cameras. You can shoot videos at 1080@30fps using some interesting modes like Timelapse, Slow Motion, Macro, Video Stabilisation, and Snapshot.

The camera also features Portrait, Ultra-Res, Pro Mode, Dual capturing, Night Vision, and Panorama. The 16MP front camera comes with Quad pixel technology, thereby making the Moto G62 selfie images bright and sharp. The camera performance of the phone is great for both good and challenging light conditions. Motorola has done a nice job by including the Quad pixel technology.

Performance, Storage, and Software

Under the hood, the Motorola Moto G62 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ processor with 5G network support. The chipset is a solid one and performs responsively with multitasking and gaming.

The Adreno 619 GPU does a decent job while achieving stable frame rates on most graphics-intensive games, plus the 120Hz of refresh rate helps to provide a faster response while scrolling through social media handles.

In collaboration with this chipset, the Motorola Moto G62 comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of in-built storage to enhance the phone’s performance. To further expand the phone’s storage if the provided storage isn’t enough for you, there’s a microSD card slot that uses a shared SIM slot.

The device runs the Android 12 OS with the company’s My UX skin out of the box, but Motorola promised only one Android update for this phone meaning that you’ll be limited only to the Android 13 OS. Meanwhile, they also promised two years of security updates.
