Infinix Hot 11S Review: Features, Specs, and Price in Nigeria

For over three years, we’ve seen lots of smartphone manufacturers releasing multiple versions of their phone’s standard model including the Infinix Hot 11S. Particularly this year, we’ve reviewed lots of smartphone models of the same lineup, with relatively the same specs and few changes that are not even worth calling an upgrade.

Currently, you can count up to four different models from the Infinix Hot 11 series, and one of them is the latest Infinix Hot 11S, with few noticeable changes from the rest Hot 11 series smartphones.

Here’s our Android phones coverage…

Well, Infinix smartphones are known for affordability and the Hot 11S is just a good example. Starting from the 6.78-inch screen which is the biggest and most noticeable change, the company has switched to a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera.

The Infinix Hot 11S is powered by a Mediatek Helio G88 processor, 50MP AI camera, a gigantic 5000mAh battery, and runs the Android 11 OS. When you look at the price of this phone, Infinix really did a nice upgrade.

Interestingly, the pros and cons of this phone are things you can comfortably live without. As a result, you can’t stream Netflix and Prime Videos due to the lack of Widevine L1. Also, the phone comes in a large body as a result of the big screen, but it’s not something to worry about. Here’s a detailed review of the Infinix Hot 11S alongside its price.

Design

Design and Display

The Infinix Hot 11S does feel a little bit large for the palm, but that wouldn’t tamper with your experience while handling the phone. The phone feels very comfortable to use and the weight is balanced despite having a huge battery capacity.

When it comes to design, the Hot 11S has a unique aesthetics, sporting a wave pattern at the rear which can appear in Polar Black, Green Wave, or Purple based on the model you’ve chosen. The rear features a triple camera setup at the top left corner while a mounted fingerprint scanner sits at the centre.

Infinix has used high-quality materials to design the frame and rear, using a plastic material that feels very strong and durable. There’s a power button and volume rocker keys on the right corner, while the left features a SIM tray.

At the bottom, you’ll get a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, microphone, and speaker grille. The front has a large screen that is covered with a NEG Dinorex T2X-1 glass protector. The screen uses a punch-hole cutout for the selfie shooter and the bezels weren’t noticeable.

Display

Measuring around 6.78-inch, the display features a very big screen to provide enough real estate for users. Fortunately, there’s 90Hz of refresh which ensures a buttery smooth experience while scrolling, and 500nits of maximum brightness to be able to view clearly while outdoors. To perform better while playing games with the Infinix Hot 11S, the smartphone comes with a 180Hz of touch sampling rate for a quick touch response.

Camera

Camera

Coming from the three-camera setup, there’s a 50MP main camera that is accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and an Al lens. From our test, the main camera took some detailed shots in broad daylight and the colours were natural.

However, when it gets dark, you won’t like the photo output unless you have to make use of the Super Night Mode to brighten up the scene and capture well-detailed images.

Video sessions with the main camera are nice, and you’ll get to use some features like Time-lapse video recording mode and Slow Motion video mode. Users can also record short videos as reels which they can share on their various social media accounts like TikTok, Facebook, etc.

The depth sensor can produce nice pictures with beautiful background blurs, but the smaller 2MP sensor often makes photos look unsaturated and less detailed.

The selfie camera has an 8MP sensor with dual flash which you can conveniently record and make video calls with it. The selfie camera was able to process some well good-looking photos. Meanwhile, the rear also features a Quad-LED flashlight with some interesting features like HDR, and Panorama.

Performance, Storage, and Software

With a Mediatek Helio G88 processor, the Hot 11S gaming capabilities are decent. The octa-core processor has shown a lot of potency in handling most strong games, outpowering some other budget gaming devices like the Tecno Pova 3.

With the Infinix Hot 11S, gamers will get a lot of reasons to enjoy their favourite games especially paying less for a great gaming device. Also, the dual DTS stereo speakers alongside the headphone jack will help spice up your gaming experience with this phone.

The general performance of the phone is impressive, and the Mediatek Helio G88 chipset is doing a great job on this phone. For your daily usage which involves making calls, watching videos, listening to music, playing games, browsing, and other stuff, you won’t experience any form of delay in the phone’s performance. From our notice, the latest UI changes also makes the device seem easy to navigate.

The Infinix Hot 11S is available in 4GB /64GB, 4GB /128GB, and 6GB /128GB memory variants. With the eMMC 5.1 storage, opening and closing apps on the phone will take just few seconds. Among the three card slots on the left corner of the phone, there’s a microSD card slot to expand the phone’s storage up to 512GB.

The Infinix Hot 11S operates on Google’s Android 11 operating system with the XOS 7.6 on top. Our problem remains with the bloatware and pre-installed apps on the Infinix Hot 11S. For features, you’ll have lots of customizable options, and you’ll also love to use the Infinix Social Turbo feature.

Battery

The battery life of the Infinix Hot 11S is great, with a 5000mAh battery that guarantees up to 6.5hrs screen on time. When the phone is fully charged, you can easily get around 17hrs of gaming and 27hrs of video playback which is great to see at this price point.

Fortunately, Infinix included an 18W fast charger in the box which takes less than 2.5hrs to charge the phone from empty to full battery.
